Dr Michael Wei is an Ophthalmologist at Parramatta Eye, Rivermark, Level 6, 34 Charles Street, Parramatta NSW 2150, where he provides advanced medical and surgical eye care; patients are encouraged to share their experiences and write a review to help others make informed choices.

Special interest

His medical interests include cataract surgery, medical retina, and complex retinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion. He also has expertise in glaucoma management and performs advanced cataract procedures using modern refractive techniques. Dr Wei regularly performs retinal laser treatments and intravitreal injections, combining surgical precision with evidence-based therapies to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Wei graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Auckland, completed a Master of Ophthalmic Science at the University of Sydney, and undertook specialist ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital Network. He further trained as a Senior Registrar at Royal North Shore Hospital with a focus on retina, glaucoma, and complex cataract surgery, and completed a medical retina fellowship at Westmead Hospital under Professor Paul Mitchell. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).
