Dr Stuart Carroll is an Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Surgeon at Auckland Eye, 8 St Marks Road, Remuera 1050, where he provides advanced medical and surgical eye care; patients are encouraged to share their experiences and write a review to help others make informed choices.

Special interest

His medical interests include cataract surgery, laser vision correction, lens replacement, paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus (squint) surgery, and pterygium surgery. Dr Carroll has subspecialty expertise in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, having trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He also manages complex adult and paediatric eye conditions, combining surgical precision with modern refractive techniques to improve visual outcomes.

Education and training

MBChB FRANZCO, PGDip

Dr Carroll graduated MBChB from the University of Auckland, completed ophthalmology training in Auckland and Hamilton, and undertook subspecialty fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He also completed an Optic Nerve and Neuro-ophthalmology fellowship in 2005 and has been a consultant ophthalmologist at Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Hospital before joining Auckland Eye in 2013. He holds FRANZCO and PGDip Cataract and Refractive Surgery qualifications.
